Desiree Fowler was the Classical Guitar & a Choral Director at Cortines School of VAPA, Grand Arts in Los Angeles, LAUSD from 2009-16.  The school is Los Angeles Unified School District's Visual & Performing Art's gem and their current Principal is Ken Martinez with Executive Artistic Director Ms. Kim Bruno whom came from La Guardia High School in New York to take on the challenge of Cortines School of VAPA.  
Desiree Fowler became the Choral & Guitar Ensemble Teacher the first year Cortines School of VAPA opened.  
A list of some of her accomplishments: Two time Honor Choir Director, Festival Adjudicator-Choral & Guitar, Multi-media Songwriter's Showcase founder (at VAPA),President of Los Angeles Secondary Music Teacher's Association, Long term ambassador at Little Kids Rock, Symposium Host and member of Guitar Foundation of America, Partnerships with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Cortines Oratorio Project through Los Angeles Master Chorale's Voices Within, Founder and publisher of Los Angeles Unified School District's Music Education Handbook, Master Teacher of (so far) three University's Student Teachers, MM in Choral Conducting, Los Angeles, Also teaches Vocal Jazz, Rock Band, Women's Chorus, Mixed Chorus, & Classical Guitar.
